A Love Letter to Our Community
It has been just over two months since we reopened and seeing our members in person at our gym training is by far the biggest highlight. Our members are the most important part of Black Tusk Athletics. We mean it! Without you, our gym is nothing. We are grateful you have entrusted us with guiding you along your fitness journey. It is our promise to you that we will continue providing an unparalleled experience in our space, especially considering the current landscape we are living in.
Your safety is at the top of our list and we have taken a proactive approach since day one of reopening. We upped our already extensive cleaning standards to best limit the risk of infection from COVID-19 by increasing our after-hours cleaning of floors, washrooms, and entrances. We will continue to keep transition times between classes to ensure every there is no overlap of members coming and leaving. Our class sizes have been reduced to increase the distance between each member. Every station has a full set of equipment that is sanitized after every class so you can arrive and enjoy your classes without the need to share equipment or worry that they have not been cleaned. We do this because your health is why we are here in the first place!
We are grateful that our members have so seamlessly transitioned back into the swing of training in the gym and lifting heavier weights since we reopened. A part of this has been because every one of our members has been able to find a way to be in the studio that best fits their comfort levels, be it 1 on 1 personal training, limited capacity group classes or open gym. But the bigger reason we’ve been able to keep Black Tusk Athletics a safe space for everyone is YOU, our members. We want to take a moment to THANK ALL OUR ATHLETES. These options for training only work because all our members are doing their part in being responsible, respectful, and mindful of the rest of the community. We have witnessed it firsthand with our athletes putting their memberships on hold to get precautionary and even asymptomatic testing to ensure that our entire community stays safe. This leaves us speechless. To know that we all understand we are in this together and that we all have each others’ backs.
We have taken some time to explore our stance concerning our members and the COVID-19 testing procedure. We have decided any members who are experiencing symptoms and/or getting asymptomatic testing, after speaking with AHS will be requested to cease attending the gym until a negative test result is received. You will have two options for your membership:
1) We will transition you immediately to Black Tusk @Home programming while you are self-isolating or awaiting your test results. This way you can continue to work out, with your membership remaining active.
2) You may request to put your membership on hold effective immediately and have the hold removed as soon as a negative test result is received.
Thank you for everyone who has dedicated your unwavering trust to us while we navigate COVID-19 together. We promise to continue to adapt procedures as we need to. Your safety remains our top priority. If you or someone you know is considering joining us, we would love to show you how we can help you with your goals enjoyably and safely!
